I’m a San Francisco Bay Area-based Human Centered Designer with 10 years experience helping nonprofit organizations achieve their mission with clarity and elegance.
I have always loved the creative process and have been drawing painting and creating music since I was a child.
I was able to apply my enthusiasm for art and creativity to my work with nonprofits through the medium of design- helping to design and create their websites, databases, programs and curriculum in beautiful and user friendly ways. It was the perfect alchemy of creativity, psychology, and value driven work.
I graduated from Northwestern University with a triple-major in Computer Science, Music and Religion. During this time I studied abroad in Bodhgaya, India and was introduced to the teachings of Buddhism.
I embarked on a traditional 3 year retreat in the Tibetan tradition at a retreat center in southern France, and continue with my studies today as a meditation instructor. The past three years I have participated in a program designed to give western students of Tibetan Buddhism the foundations needed to become teachers themselves.
I have a background in trompe l’oeil mural painting, and apprenticed with master muralist John Pugh. The challenge and thrill of planning large scale murals that observers believed to be reality follows me in other ventures where I still gravitate towards crafting the big picture while still tending to the smallest detail.
I also love bluegrass music, hiking in the redwoods, and traveling to experience other countries and cultures.
